A police officer is being treated in hospital for head and neck injuries following a collision in Tamworth yesterday (Tuesday 21 January).
The collision occurred at around 1.40pm on Ludgate, as a white BMW failed to stop for officers. The car was in collision with two parked and unattended cars – a red Vauxhall Corsa and a white VW Golf. The BMW was then in collision with two police cars.
The officer was taken to hospital via ambulance.
Two men from Birmingham were arrested at the scene. A 35-year-old was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop, dangerous driving and being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs. He remains in custody. A 34-year-old was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs. He has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
