A 47-year-old man who attempted to flee to Scotland has been jailed for four-and-a-half years for burglaries in Tamworth.
Ian Kim Smith, also known as McKinlay, of Simpson Road, Bridge of Don, Aberdeenshire, pleaded guilty to six burglaries in Tamworth between November 2019 and March 2020.
He was arrested by officers at a service station on the M74 in Scotland on his way to Aberdeen.
Smith was sentenced to 54 months in prison at Stafford Crown Court on 19 November.
