A man has sadly died following a fatal road traffic collision in Newcastle-under-Lyme this morning (7 August).
Officers were called at 10.25am by colleagues from West Midlands Ambulance Service to a report of a road traffic collision involving a motorcyclist on Parkhouse Road at the junction with Cedar Road.
Despite the efforts of emergency services, the motorcyclist, a man in his 50s, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene and his family will be offered support from specialist officers at this difficult time.
A 27-year-old man from Stoke-on-Trent has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He remains in custody at this time.
An investigation is underway and officers are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward.
