Police in Newcastle are investigating following a report of a suspicious incident allegedly involving a child in the Hardingswood Road area of Kidsgrove this afternoon.
The report from a concerned member of the public related to sightings of a man and a child in the area at around 4.15pm.
Enquiries have shown that there is nothing to suggest anything untoward and there have been no reports of missing children in Staffordshire today.
A children’s bike was found in the area but it is believed that this has been in the location for a few days.
Officers are keeping an open mind and are keen to ascertain the identity of anyone who was in the area and who may fit the investigation in order to help their enquires.
We are urging members of the public to avoid any further speculation on social media.
