Officers are appealing for witnesses after a man was arrested following a report of a firearm in Lichfield Road, Burntwood.
Armed officers were deployed at around 10:15am this morning (28 September) and an imitation handgun was discovered. A Birmingham man, aged 20, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and remains in custody for questioning.
The imitation firearm has been seized and officers would like to reassure members of the local community that there is no risk to their safety. Neighbourhood officers will be increasing their patrols in the area for the rest of the day to provide reassurance and to help gather information about the incident.
