Two men appeared in court yesterday (14 November) charged with drug offences.
David Bowes, aged 23, of Harper Avenue, Burton, was charged with possession with intent to supply Class A drugs (crack cocaine) and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs (heroin). Also, possession of a Class B drug (cannabis) and obstructing a constable in the execution of his/her duty. He was arrested on Dallow Street in Burton on Tuesday (12 November). A 42 year-old man, from Burton, arrested at the same time on suspicion of possessing heroin and crack cocaine was released under investigation pending further enquiries.
Bilal Shafiq, 18, of Uxbridge Street, Burton, was charged with possession with intent to supply a Class A drugs (crack cocaine) and possession of a Class B controlled drug (cannabis). He was arrested following a vehicle stop in Blakeholme Court, Burton, on Tuesday (12 November). Three other men arrested at the same time, aged 20, 22 and 29, on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A and B drugs, have been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
