Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a 62-year-old woman died following a non-stop collision in Cannock this evening (31 December).
The incident took place at around 6.30pm, at the junction between Pye Green Road and Saint Aidan’s Road.
The woman, who was driving a mobility scooter at the time, was involved in a collision with a car, believed to be a silver VW Golf.
Despite the best efforts of emergency service staff, she sadly died at the scene.
Her family have been informed and will be offered support from specially-trained officers.
The driver of the car failed to stop and enquiries are on-going to trace them.
