Staffordshire Police is appealing for witnesses after a parked car was deliberately set alight in Bentilee.

Officers were called to Chelmsford Drive, at around 12.15am on Thursday (4 October) by colleagues from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue.

A Fiat Fullback 4x4 had been set on fire which caused the handbrake to fail. This resulted in a collision with a near-by Vauxhall Astra.

Fortunately the fire was quickly extinguished, and no one was injured.

An investigation is on-going, and we want to hear from anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area prior to the fire.

Anyone with any information is asked to email colin.hitchins@staffordshire.pnn.police.uk quoting incident number 010 of 4 October.
