Arrests and charges were made in Burton yesterday (13 September) as part of an intelligence led county-wide operation.

Jason Baker, 24, of Oscott Road, Perry Barr, Birmingham, was charged with possession with intent to supply Class A drugs (Crack Cocaine and Heroin) and possession of a knife blade in a public place.

He was detained by officers following a stop and search on Guild Street at around 10.40am on Thursday morning. A large package of class A drugs and a lock knife were recovered at the scene.

Baker will appear at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre in Newcastle-under-Lyme this morning (14 September).

During the search, a 40-year-old man from Stretton, was also arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs. He has since been released under investigation pending further enquiries.

From Tuesday 18 September, Staffordshire Police will be supporting the national knife crime week of action - Operation Sceptre. During the week we will be educating young people across Staffordshire about the dangers and consequences of carrying knives and cracking down on those that sell and carry knives.
