Two men arrested following vehicle stop

Two men have been arrested and a quantity of Class B drugs have been seized in Burntwood.

Officers from Staffordshire Police stopped a silver Volkswagen Passat on Pool Lane, at around 12.30am this morning (12 September).

Following a search, a quantity of what is believed to be cannabis was discovered, along with weapons including a machete and hockey stick.

A 27-year-old man, from the West Midlands, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled drug, possessing an offensive weapon and being concerned in the supply of class B drugs.

A 29-year-old man, from the West Midlands, was arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon and possessing a controlled drug with intent to supply.

They both remain in custody at this time.
