The PCC Award for Volunteer of the Year presented to Mrs Sharon Trigg and Miss Victoria Montford

The Award

The Police and Crime Commissioner Award recognises volunteers who provide fantastic support in their own time to keep Staffordshire safe and reassured. It highlights outstanding service to Staffordshire communities by volunteers who make a dedicated contribution.

This year the Award is given to two individual volunteers.

PCC Award - Mrs Sharon Trigg and Miss Victoria MontfordCitation

Sharon Trigg and Vicky Montford are Cadet Commanders within the Police Support Volunteers programme, who each respectively head up a cadet unit, in the north (Burslem) and south (Tamworth) of the county.

From being interested parents, they have worked as cadet assistants and over time became cadet commanders of their units as they've grown in confidence and experience, whilst volunteering for the Staffordshire Police Cadet scheme.

They work individually at their respective units and together as a team when organising major events and assisting with the start-up of new cadet units. They are well respected and trusted by cadets, cadet assistants and leaders and, despite leading busy home lives, they give a great deal of their time and energy to the cadets to ensure they have the best possible opportunities whilst on the programme so that they are supported and encouraged in the work they do at the various units.

Both Sharon and Vicky have represented the cadets both regionally and nationally at events and their high standards and enthusiasm shines from them both and is the best advertisement for the programme that we have.
