We've arrested four men and one woman on suspicion of drugs offences in Staffordshire in an operation which took place this morning (October 10).

Two Birmingham men, aged 18 and 20, and a 49-year-old woman from Stoke were arrested on suspicion of intent to supply cocaine and heroin following a search at a property in Tirley Street, Fenton. The 18-year-old is also wanted by West Midlands Police in connection with other offences.

In a separate incident we stopped a black VW Golf on the southbound carriageway of the M6 near Sandbach and officers arrested two men, aged 20 and 21, from Liverpool, on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class-A drugs.

All five remain in custody as investigations continue.

Chief Inspector Karen Stevenson, of Stoke-on-Trent South Local Policing Team, said: "We're dedicated to taking a proactive stance on tackling organised criminal activity and the supply of illegal drugs within our community. We will act decisively to take drugs and weapons off the street to keep our communities safe from harm and protect the vulnerable."
