A 20-year-old man was assaulted and robbed by unknown offenders as he walked home with a friend from a local festival at the weekend in the Draycott area of Stoke-on-Trent.

An investigation is underway but we need your help in identifying the offenders.

The incident happened at around 1.25am on Sunday 3 September outside the Sultan Buffet Restaurant on Uttoxeter Road, Draycott.

As the two friends were walking along the road, a silver hatchback with the front nearside headlight out, slammed to a halt and five or six men exited the vehicle.

The 20-year-old was then assaulted by two or three of the men who repeatedly punched him in the head and then stole his jacket and wallet. The victim’s friend was pursued by the other offenders towards Draycott but managed to make his escape.

All offenders then made off in the vehicle. Shortly after, the offenders returned in the vehicle from the Blythe Bridge direction, where they threw the victim’s jacket and wallet out of the car. An amount of cash had been stolen from the wallet.

The victim suffered cuts to the head as a result of the assault and was treated at the scene by colleagues from West Midlands Ambulance.
