Man arrested following pursuit in Newcastle-under-Lyme

A man is in custody this afternoon (Fri) after being arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply.

The 20-year-old had failed to stop for officers and following a short pursuit abandoned the green Ford Fusion he was driving in Moran Road. He ran off but was quickly caught and arrested in an alleyway to the rear of Camillus Road, Knutton.

A search of the individual recovered a quantity of cash and what is believed to be cannabis.

He was arrested on suspicion of taking a vehicle without consent; possession with intent to supply cannabis and being unfit to drive through drink or drugs.

During the pursuit the suspect's vehicle is believed to have been in collision with other vehicles, particularly in the Silverdale Road area, including a Skoda Yeti.

We would urge anyone whose vehicle has been damaged earlier this afternoon in the area to contact us on 101, quoting incident number 236 of April 21.

Well done I saw what I thought was an assailant but realised it was an undercover officer I won't describe him, so glad someone has been arrested well done
