Our investigation into last night's disturbances in Stoke-on-Trent is ongoing.
Six men arrested on suspicion of affray remain in custody for questioning. They are aged between 18 and 23.
Last night a suspected firearm was recovered. An examination has shown it is a plastic, toy gun.
We have also seized a machete and hammer, along with a red Mercedes, which is now subject to a detailed forensic examination.
The windows of a property in Rochester Road were smashed during the disturbance there.
DCI Ricky Fields, who is leading the investigation, said: "We are at the beginning of a detailed investigation to establish exactly what
happened in Fenton and Sandford Hill last night.
"Early indications suggest this was an isolated incident and those involved are known to each other.
"Six men are in custody and are being questioned by detectives.
"To reassure local residents we have stepped up high visibility patrols in the area and this will continue over the coming days.
"Anyone with concerns is encouraged to speak to those officers, or call us on 101."
As part of the investigation officers will be taking witness statements and studying CCTV footage from the locality.
