Police make arrests over theft from motor vehicle incidents in South Staffordshire

South Staffordshire has recently had a spate of incidents involving theft from motor vehicles, particularly around the Highgate Common Country Park area in Enville and Kinver.

South Staffordshire Local Policing Team have been carrying out enquiries into these thefts and yesterday arrested three males aged 20, 18 and 12 all from the Bilston area of Wolverhampton.

All three were taken to custody and interviewed in relation to numerous offences. They have subsequently been released under investigation.

South Staffordshire Local Policing Deputy Commander, Sergeant Richard Gorman, said, "We take this type of criminality extremely seriously and have been carrying out a detailed investigation to identify those responsible. The offenders have been using bricks and stones to smash windows to vehicles parked in rural locations in order to steal property left in view.

"Please ensure that whilst enjoying the countryside you do not leave anything of value on display in your vehicles. Wherever possible leave bags at home or if you need them, take them with you. If you see anything suspicious please contact Staffordshire Police."

Anyone with information should contact Staffordshire Police on 101 or call independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
