Proud of our people nominations - Week to Friday 24 March 2017

Each week we will publish details of those colleagues nominated for their excellent work and dedication to the communities of Staffordshire.

Saving a life Family safety

On 14th March 2017 a male reported he was going to kill himself and gave a vague location. Officers searched the local area, found his vehicle and then went out on foot into woodland and found a male hanging from a tree. The officers held the male up and requested assistance. They worked together to climb trees to cut the male down, where they then performed CPR for 25 minutes while waiting for an ambulance, resulting in the male being air lifted to hospital with a pulse.

These officers were scratched and bruised from the brambles and did all they could attempting to save the life of this male who arrived at hospital alive and in a position to receive treatment. PCSO Alex Trusler, PC Gemma Trawford, PC Mark Boyles, PC Dean Slater, PC James Churchill, Sgt David Rowlands and Sgt Alun Evans all upheld our ethics of saving life. Sadly, despite the best efforts of the officers and medical staff, the man later died in hospital.

PCSO Brian Harbon has always been great at helping and assisting if there have been problems in the road. Our latest issue with 7 youths on bikes causing annoyance, intimidation and trespass onto our properties was dealt with by PCSO Harbon without ourselves, or the neighbours, having to have open confrontation with the lads.  Although the lads are still with us, they have definitely calmed down their antics and we thank PCSO Harbon for all the work he has done for us all.
