Rights of Appeal

If the individual is dissatisfied with the outcome of the SMP's reassessment, they may appeal under Regulations 31, 32 and 34 of the Police (Injury Benefit) Regulations 2006.  The processes and administration of appeals are prescribed by the Regulations and by Home Office Guidance.

HR Support will inform individuals of their rights of appeal if they are dissatisfied with the outcome. Individuals are entitled to seek advice from the Police Federation, NARPO or independent legal advice.

Appeals or complaints lodged by individuals will in themselves not delay or prevent the administration of the reassessment process, or the execution of decisions by the SMP or PPA
