Proud of our people nominations - Week to Friday 23 September 2016

Each week we will publish details of those colleagues nominated for their excellent work and dedication to the communities of Staffordshire.

Very thankful of the intervention by officers

Staff from the Greenfield Centre were assessing a male when he became aggressive making threats and after several attempts by PCs Rachel Jackson and Kate Gater to calm him down the officers used PAVA, which enabled him to be restrained. Staff were very thankful of the intervention by officers preventing what could have been a far worse situation.

Excellent communication skills

group of people with officer bluePC Mark Garsden supported our team (North Staffs Combined Healthcare Trust) in a positive, compassionate manner.  He displayed empathy at all times and knowledge of appropriate use of his policies and procedures. PC Garsden supported us to maintain an individual's dignity and respect. He demonstrated excellent communication skills, as well as good understanding of mental health issues. PC Garsden kept us fully informed at all times.

Cannot thank you enough

I thought I had my rucksack stolen containing various items at the service station. PC Leon Gilbert went to look at the CCTV there and found I had left it behind. He retrieved it and then arranged with Karen Bastone, Customer Service Assistant, to return it to me. Both of them took the time to telephone and talk to me about what had happened and the arrangement to get it back to me. I cannot thank them enough.
