Proud of our people nominations - Week to Friday 2 September 2016

Each week we will publish details of those colleagues nominated for their excellent work and dedication to the communities of Staffordshire.

A positive and professional image

Whiston Family Fun Day Bank Holiday Monday 29 Aug 2016 was attended by PCSO 24298 Elliot Waller.  The officer engaged with the public and organisers of the event in a cheerful and exemplary manner, combining professionalism with that all important sense of humour. He demonstrated good judgement in assessing the appropriate balance to adopt in the manner in which he conducted himself. In addition to presenting a positive professional image of his organisation he actively participated in the Whiston Wellie Wanging Championship and to the credit of himself as an athlete and to the enhancement of the public image of Staffordshire Police PCSO Waller achieved first place with a record breaking wang, never before witnessed on the Whiston Wanging Ground.  Please convey to the officer the sincere appreciation of the Whiston Village Wellie Wanging organisers for a job well done.

A few months ago I was close to a suicide attempt. A friend of mine rang the police for me and PCSO Connor Baxter attended my house. From the start he has been brilliant, calm, reassuring and helpful. He has continued to occasionally check how I am doing and check I am receiving the support I need despite the case being closed. Mental health workers have dealt with me but it is so nice to know there are people like Connor around who do actually care. He is a credit to your police force and even my sons love seeing him walk past when he is patrolling.

Polite and kind to the public

PC Andrew Sherratt was really helpful and understanding when I told him what had happened over Facebook he deserves a reward for his politeness and kindness against members of the public.

Quickly diffused trouble

Fantastic police presence in Cannock tonight! Especially outside Silks, any trouble was quickly diffused and it made for an enjoyable evening. Thank you to Shift 1 (Sgt Gary Wassell, Sgt David Morris, PC Claire Bond, PC Andy Frost, PC John Jevons, PC Ben Tuckwell, PC Steven Wain, PC Matthew Burton) for ensuring everyone got home safe. Credit to Staffs Police.

Police car blueThank you for your assistance

My power steering failed on the A50 West bound this morning, I was able to exit onto the Longton slip road, but was unable to continue to drive my car as I could not steer it. PC Dylan Morrey came to my assistance, moved my car to a safe place and walked back to his own vehicle. He drove me to my car and ascertained that I was able to contact breakdown services. Approximately 30 minutes after he left me he returned to check that I was okay and that the breakdown services were en route. I would like to thank PC Morrey.
