Proud of our people nominations - Week to Friday 12th August 2016

Each week we will publish details of those colleagues nominated for their excellent work and dedication to the communities of Staffordshire.

You were amazing

On 4th August 2016, we started to experience major problems from travellers who had set up camp on Sudbury Hall National Trust grounds.

Staffordshire police were amazing in both response times, appointments and providing regular watch at our premises, throughout the 4 days. The officers whose names I have from their cards are; Sgt Bethan Gilbert, PC Richard Boulter, PC Danielle Brannan, PC Richard Lymer, SC James Sewell, PCSO Kelly Allen, PCSO Julia Wells, PCSO David Higgs, but there were also officers who attended during the night whose details I do not have.

We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who assisted us and ensured our safety, the safety of our staff and customers.

Thank you xx

A credit to the force

A huge congratulations to PCSO Adrian Price collar number 8853 for rescuing my daughter. Her car broke down and the AA advised a 2 hour wait. She was in a lane at night. He was passing having just finished duty. He stayed with her and ensured she and the car got home safely. He was supportive and calmly sorted her crisis/distress.

What an excellent officer and a credit to the force.

Thank you!!

Great result from excellent team work

A Czech Republic national was arrested on 12 July 2016 by PCs Paul Batten and Richard Clarke from Longton for a minor offence of handling stolen goods.

As a result of this arrest a foreign conviction check was carried out by Sgt Greg Ikins to ascertain this person's previous convictions in their country of nationality. The results of the check were received from the Czech Republic on 4 August 2016 stating that this foreign national, amongst other convictions, had served a 12 year prison sentence for murder in 2003.

The convictions were forwarded to Immigration on 4 August 2016 in order for Immigration to deport this person from the UK.  On 9 August 2016 an email from Immigration was received stating that this person had been arrested and will now be deported from the UK.
