Non-Emergency Enquiries: 101

999 Emergency

Call 999 in an emergency when a crime is happening, someone suspected of a crime is nearby, or if someone is injured, being threatened or in danger.

When Should I Call 999 from Staffs Police on Vimeo.

Remember 999 is for emergencies only, using the 999 line unnecessarily could prevent somebody who is in danger from getting through to us.

When to call the 101 non-emergency number.

If you have problems hearing or speaking you can contact the 999 emergency services by SMS text message from you mobile phone.

If there is a significant incident affecting the force we sometimes set up a Casualty Bureau- this is a dedicated number for those who have family members affected by the incident. The number will be published on our social media and by the media. This allows the contact centre to separate 'normal' calls from the incident specific calls.
