APPEAL: Detectives appeal for information relating to assault in Stoke-on-Trent

Officers from Staffordshire Police have issued a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to in connection with a sexual assault on a towpath near Stoke City Football Club ground.

The incident happened between 6.50 and 7.30pm on Saturday (13 March) when a teenager was approached by a man on a bicycle in red shorts. The man spoke to the girl and then tried to grab her before she managed to make off.

Fortunately, she was not injured, but has understandably been left shaken and upset.

The man is described as white, wearing red shorts, a blue coat and a black cycling vest. He also had something covering his face.

Anyone with any information, or anyone who may have seen the man pictured on CCTV, is asked to call 101 quoting incident number 745 of 13 April.

Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
