Investigation underway following post office burglary

Officers from Staffordshire Police are investigating an overnight burglary at a post office in Stoke-on-Trent whereby an ATM was targeted by offenders.

The burglary happened at Northwood Post Office on Keelings Road, Hanley, at around 2.30am this morning (11 January).

Offenders gained entry to the premises via a metal shutter by using a cutting tool and then smashed through the glass.

The ATM was damaged from inside the post office and an amount of cash was stolen from the machine.

An investigation is now underway and enquiries are on-going.
