Officers from the Tactical Support Team have made three arrests in quick succession in Stoke-on-Trent this afternoon (6 December).

The first arrest was at around 3:40pm on Carsdale Crescent in Blurton. A 30-year-old man from Stoke-on-Trent was arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and criminal damage.

Detective Chief Inspector Rob Taylor, senior investigating officer for the criminal damage and disorder at the Port Vale match on the evening of 4 December, said: "The behaviour seen on Tuesday night was unacceptable and caused fear and distress to many families who had come to enjoy a game of football. My team of detectives are working hard to identify those responsible and I hope these arrests will reassure the public that we are making progress in this investigation.

"I would like to thank the public for their support and information received so far, which has helped us a great deal already."
