Accept the Notice of Intended Prosecution

You MUST complete steps 1 and 2 before you will be able to pay.

If you were not the driver at the time of the alleged offence, click here.

Steps to take:

  1. Fill in and return section A on the reverse side of your notice (NIP)
  2. Once your return form has been processed, you will receive a second letter which is the conditional/course offer
  3. ONLY once you have completed steps 1 and 2, will you be able to pay online. When you are at this point - click here for the next step

If you are eligible for a Driver Retraining Course you will be notified in writing after you have completed and returned the Notice of Intended Prosecution.

Driver Retraining Course

This is where you pay a course fee, attend a course and receive no points on your licence or elect to have a conditional offer or attend court.

Drivers who are eligible for a Speed Awareness Course will be notified in writing by the Staffordshire Safer Roads Partnership following the issue of a Notice of Intended Prosecution.

You must complete and return the Notice of Intended Prosecution before you are informed of your eligibility for a Driver Retraining Course

Eligibility For a Course

Drivers cannot self refer to this scheme nor can they attend a course if they have attended a Speed Awareness course within the last three years.

A course offer is subject to meeting the course criteria and requirements.

  • You cannot attend the same course nationally in the last 3 years.
  • The current course fee to attend in Staffordshire is £80.
  • You must also fit in with the offense speed limit indicated below.

Viewing the Photo Evidence

To view the photographic evidence click here and enter some of the details found at the top of your NIP.

You will then be able to view the photographic evidence of the offence and see the speed camera calibration certificate.

Nominating Another Driver

If you were not the driver but have received the NIP here's what you should do.

If you were NOT the driver at the time of the alleged offence, it is your legal obligation to give us any information you have which could help us identify the driver.
