Force Management Statement

Staffordshire Police is committed to delivering a service that keeps people safe from harm and protects the most vulnerable.  Through our new policing model we have invested in delivering a service that is more preventative in approach so we can be more visible in Staffordshire's communities, working with partners to tackle concerns early on.

The changing nature of crime means we must continually assess our ability to do this, as well as our ability to respond to crimes and bring offenders to justice.

Staffordshire Police's first annual Force Management Statement (FMS) fulfils the requirements set by Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire and Rescue Services (HMICFRS) to provide an explanation of:

  • the demand the force expects to face in the next four years;
  • how the force will change and improve its workforce and other assets to cope with that demand;
  • how it will improve effectiveness and efficiency in an effort to align future demand and future capability;
  • and the money the force expects to have to do all this.

This executive summary [305KB]  provides an overview of the work we are doing and the work we need to do in order to improve our service and make the force resilient for the future. It is a promising and exciting period of change but we must remain cognisant of the pressures faced locally and nationally as demand continues to increase, crimes continue to become more complex and new threats continue to emerge.
