Assistant Chief Constable Jenny Sims

ACC Jenny Sims

Jenny leads on the following functions:

Jenny Sims joined Staffordshire Police as Assistant Chief Constable in September 2018.

She became a police officer in 1993 in Merseyside Police. Across her career in Merseyside Police, she undertook roles in response, neighbourhood policing and was head of Matrix Uniformed Services. Jenny has undertaken two national secondments within her service and was the force lead and driver for Operation Brookdale, a force-wide partnership response to tackle the anti-social and criminal use of motor cycles which continues today. She has led a number of change programmes and has held operations command in two areas including the city centre and Liverpool South. She is committed to working in partnership and problem solving across functions; she was the force lead for business crime over four years. Jenny's previous role prior to joining Staffordshire Police was Head of Leadership and People for Merseyside Police.

Jenny completed the national Strategic Command Course in March 2018.

Jenny will work with the executive team to deliver the force strategy and plans to build on the ongoing early intervention work with partners to tackle the root causes of problems, prevent crime and protect the vulnerable. She will lead work so that the force continues to safeguard public confidence by ensuring that individuals and communities feel safe, reassured and confident that the service is there when they need it. Jenny will develop the role of neighbourhood policing following the recent changes and will ensure contact and response continues to advance with modern policing.

Jenny Sims said, "I am delighted to have been appointed as the Assistant Chief Constable to serve the people of Staffordshire Police Headquarters. Over the past few weeks I have spent time getting to know the force, its people and its partners and I am overwhelmed by the pride in the organisation and the work being done in partnership. The force has recently implemented a new policing model and I look forwards to working closely with communities, officers, staff and partners to ensure safer, fairer and united communities."
