Lichfield Neighbourhood Policing Unit (NPU) covers the historic south-east Staffordshire city known for its three-spired cathedral and as the birthplace of Dr Samuel Johnson. Within the NPU there are smaller neighbourhood management areas covering Boley Park, Chadsmead, Curborough, Fazeley and Mile Oak, Leomansley, the city centre, Little Aston, Shenstone and Stonnal, Stowe and Whittington. The city itself is on the border of the West Midlands conurbation and has good road links to Birmingham. Local police work very closely with colleagues from the local authority, Lichfield District Council.
Police are looking to out the brake on speeding drivers using a busy lane at Shenstone near Lichfield. (24/08/2010)
