Longton

Longton Neighbourhood Policing Unit (NPU) covers the industrial south of the City of Stoke-on-Trent which, in its heyday, was a world famous centre of the pottery industry.

Within the NPU are 10 neighbourhoods covering Saxonfields, Meir Hay, Weston Coyney East, Weston Coyney West, Meir North, Longton, Dresden/Florence and Normacott, Lightwood, Meir South and Meir Park.

The NPU is diverse and parts of it are designated as an area for major intervention (AMI) and regeneration. It is bordered by the main arterial A50 route which gives easy access to the A500 and M6 motorway.

Local police work very closely with colleagues from the local authority, Stoke-on-Trent City Council.
