Mr Randolph Conteh
Mr Randolph Conteh is your Police Authority member for Longton, Stoke and Burslem. More about this member
Burslem carries the title of the 'mother town' of Stoke-on-Trent , and is one of the city's six towns. It has a busy town centre, with housing estates all around, and is home to Port Vale Football Club. Sneyd Green is largely residential and has a number of small businesses throughout.
In your contact, surveys and meetings with your local officers, you're telling us you want us to deal with:
One of the main problems you’ve highlighted in your area is anti-social behaviour (ASB) which incorporates such matters as rowdy and inconsiderate behaviour, street gangs, prostitution, noise, etc. We’re working closely with our partner agencies to tackle this problem.
We carry out foot patrols with local neighbourhood beat officers, PCSOs and special constables in ‘hot spot’ areas. There is also a dedicated ASB police patrol each evening to routinely patrol these areas, as well as attending incidents of ASB. Repeat callers have been contacted and many have now been issued with incident logs to record details. We have dealt with people committing offences including seizing alcohol and issuing warnings.
Two Antisocial Behaviour Orders were successfully obtained following the continued nuisance caused by the two individuals. These will run for two years and appertain to the Hillary Street area. All residents have been updated and to date they have not breached. Residents report a marked improvement. Thanks to all those involved in supporting us and supplying the evidence needed to see this through.
We have been working on issues around litter, speeding vehicles and antisocial behaviour on Burslem College Campus. Meetings with the college and the concerned residents have been held, newsletters delivered and speeding signs on the wheelie bins attached. We aim to put electronic speed awareness signs in place. Early indications so far show all this is working.
Neighbourhood policing meetings are open to everyone. They give you the chance to influence what happens in your neighbourhood. At the meetings you can tell your local team about the issues that concern you. Officers will then report back to you at the next meeting about what they've been doing to solve those issues.
