Loggerheads is located 15 miles to the west of Newcastle-under-Lyme and is accessible via the A53 which also runs through the village of Whitmore.

Loggerheads and Whitmore have good road links to Newcastle-under-Lyme and Shropshire via the A51 and A53 main trunk roads. A regular bus service also runs between Newcastle - under - Lyme and Market Drayton in neighbouring Shropshire.

Loggerheads and Whitmore are both small residential villages with good neighbourhood facilities including a post office, library, shops and three schools.
Local police also cover the rural villages of Ashley, Knighton, Muckleston, Maer and Aston.
