Wombourne Neighbourhood Policing Unit (NPU) covers the most southerly area of Staffordshire. It borders the city of Wolverhampton and the Black Country to the east and Shropshire to the west. Predominantly rural in make up, the area does however boast the county's only airport, Wolverhampton Business Airport at Bobbington, and the Kinver Edge beauty spot. The NPU has neighbourhood management areas covering Bilbrook, Codsall, Himley, Kinver, Lower Penn, Pattingham, Perton, Seisdon, Swindon, and Trysull. Local police work very closely with colleagues from the local authority, South Staffordshire District Council.
Officers from across Stafford Borough, Cannock Chase and South Staffordshire areas will be available at this year’s Family Fun Day at the MOD base on Beaconside in Stafford on Saturday 4 September. (24/08/2010)
The partner and family of a motorcyclist killed in a road crash in Broughton have paid tribute to a “fun-seeking, caring and loving person”. (23/08/2010)
