Football fans visiting the Britannia Stadium this weekend to watch Stoke City v Tottenham Hotspur are urged to use public transport to help reduce congestion before and after the match.
The game kicks off at 4pm on Sunday 11 December and supporters are advised to allow plenty of time to get to the game.
This time of day is a particularly busy period on any given Sunday, but in the run-up to Christmas additional traffic is likely to be using the roads in the area.
Chief Inspector Carl Ratcliffe, Match Commander, said: "I would like to ask Stoke City supporters to consider using alternative forms of transport to and from the match.
"Those who are travelling by car are asked to car share where possible, or catch a bus to the stadium.
There are a number of extra services running especially for the match, with return tickets available on the day.
"We are working closely with the club to ensure the safety of all supporters so everyone can have an enjoyable time.
But for those who travel by car.
Please be patient when leaving the parking area and allow extra time for this part of the day."
