Police are reminding residents to take simple crime prevention measures this winter to protect their homes against burglars.
The timely reminder comes following three burglaries across the Shobnall area of Burton during the early hours of (Tuesday 6 December).
Two houses in Edward Street were targeted and another in Albert Street.
Items including handbags, mobile phones and laptops were stolen.
Inspector Dan Ison, of East Staffordshire Local Policing Team, said: "We are urging residents to look at their property through the eyes of a burglar and make adjustments if there are weak security spots.
"Keep burglars out by shutting windows and locking doors, even when you are in the house or the garden. Residents are asked to be extra vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately."
