Behind Bars
Behind Bars is an initiative involving Staffordshire Police and our colleagues in the Criminal Justice System.
Its aim is simple: to keep Staffordshire’s communities updated about criminals aged 18 or more who’ve been jailed for six months or more at crown court.
The offenders featured may well have had a direct impact on the quality of life where you or they live.
That’s why we think it’s important you can find out what’s happened to them in court, and be reassured that the criminal justice system - which includes the police, Crown Prosecution Service, courts and Youth Offending Services - is working effectively on your behalf throughout Staffordshire.
Tell us what you think about the Behind Bars initiative using the Behind Bars feedback form (Opens in new window) or subscribe to Behind Bars to receive email alerts.
A 'WANTED' notice (Opens in new window) has been posted for youngsters to boost the ranks of volunteer army of 'insiders' keeping tabs on the conditions of cells and prisoners held in police custody. The county's new Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) (Opens in new window) is looking for volunteers who either live or work in the Burton and Cannock areas to carry out inspections of police custody suites and the individuals detained in them.
