Staffordshire Moorlands Local Policing Team (LPT) is centred around the towns of Leek, Cheadle and Biddulph. It also covers many rural areas with significant centres of population such as Endon, Brown Edge, and Stockton Brook.
Leek is a market town with a traditional town centre and of real character with ancient markets, intriguing antique shops, victorian mills and historic churches.
The area of Cheadle is largely, predominantly rural with several significant towns including Cheadle, Blythe Bridge, Werrington and Cheddleton. The area is home to the well known Alton Towers Theme Park (Opens in new window), and the Peak District National Park is also a major attraction for tourists. JCB is a key local employer.
The town of Biddulph has a small shopping centre surrounded by residential estates of both owner-occupied and rented accommodation. Biddulph is famous for the unique Biddulph Grange Garden which is now owned by The National Trust.
Local police work very closely with colleagues from the local authority, Staffordshire Moorlands District Council (Opens in new window).
