Stafford Borough Local Policing Team covers Staffordshire's county town and the ancient market town of Stone in mid-Staffordshire. Stafford castle, which is just outside Stafford town centre, is an imposing landmark. Recently Stafford has received considerable investment, as the central shopping area and a number of out-of-town retail sites have developed.
Stone is famed for its canal links and historic connections with the pottery magnate Josiah Wedgwood. Both towns are increasingly popular residential areas, surrounded by vast countryside and and rural villages such as Church Eaton, Gnosall, Seighford and Woodseaves, Chartley, The Haywoods, Hixon and Milwich, Eccleshall and Swynnerton, Barlaston and Fulford.
Local police work very closely with colleagues from the local authority, Stafford Borough Council (Opens in new window).
