Policing in Staffordshire is locally-based on 9 Local Policing Teams (LPTs).

Each LPT has units with teams of officers and police community support officers responsible for getting to know local communities and dealing with the things that matter most to them.

Cannock Chase District
Cannock Chase District LPT is centred around Cannock town centre and the market town of Rugeley.
East Staffordshire
East Staffordshire LPT's area is essentially rural in character and includes many small villages. There are two main towns, Burton upon Trent and Uttoxeter.
Lichfield District
Lichfield District LPT is situated in the south eastern part of Staffordshire, and consistis of two large towns, several villages and a significant rural area.
Newcastle Borough
Newcastle Borough LPT borders Stoke-on-Trent and stretches across North West Staffordshire to the borders of Cheshire and Shropshire.
South Staffordshire
South Staffordshire LPT covers a mix of urban and rural land in south Staffordshire.
Stafford Borough
Stafford Borough LPT covers Staffordshire's county town and the ancient market town of Stone in mid-Staffordshire.
Staffordshire Moorlands District
Staffordshire Moorlands LPT is centred around the towns of Leek, Cheadle and Biddulph.
Stoke-on-Trent
Stoke-on-Trent LPT serves a population of around 238,000 covering an area of 36 square miles, and covers the six towns of Burslem, Fenton, Hanley, Longton, Stoke and Tunstall.
Tamworth Borough
Tamworth Borough LPT covers an urban, geographically compact area of about 12 square miles and is situated in the extreme south east of Staffordshire.
