Nominate a Neighbour
How it works
We have produced a pack of materials that will be useful to those operating the scheme. It includes information for the nominated neighbour on how to check the identity of the caller and what to do if they suspect them to be bogus.
If they consider the caller to be genuine, the nominated neighbour would return with them to their neighbour’s home (securing their own home first) and stay until the caller has conducted their business.
The pack also includes information for older people on security and how to set up the scheme, and what to do with the accompanying materials – a card to hold up at the window which directs a caller to an alternative address and a reminder sticker for the door.
