Race and religion crime
What is a racist incident?
Any incident which is perceived to be racist by the victim or any other person.
What is a religious incident?
Any incident which is perceived to be based upon prejudice towards or hatred of the faith of the victim or so perceived by the victim or any other person.
By forging closer links with communities, Staffordshire Police works in partnership with groups and individuals to reduce hate crime and put in place long-term solutions.
It’s important that the scale of the problem is realised. This means the police need you to tell them about incidents or racist activity so the police can develop plans to prevent racist incidents occurring or problems from escalating.
Staffordshire Police has a number of specialist staff who are dedicated to helping and supporting those experiencing problems through racist and cultural issues. They are available to discuss any concerns and available options and suggest other agencies that can provide support. They will also work in partnership with the investigating officers throughout the investigation.
