What is Age hate crime?
Any incident which is perceived to be based upon prejudice towards or hatred of the victim because of their age or so perceived by the victim or any other person
The police are committed to reducing all crimes of hate including age hate crime. To achieve this they need your help.
Firstly, the police need to know and understand the scale of the problem. This means the police need victims and witnesses to tell them about incidents.
Secondly, the police need intelligence – information so that they can develop plans to tackle problems and reduce age hate crime incidents.
Staffordshire Police has a number of specialist staff within the force who are dedicated to helping and supporting those experiencing problems. They are available to discuss any concerns and available options and suggest other agencies that can provide support.
