Why has the JIGSAW DVD been produced?
JIGSAW has been introduced to improve our service to victims and witnesses and to help deliver that service in a quick and more effective way.
It provides everything that you’ll need to know about policing and criminal justice processes under the same cover.
All the information in the leaflets previously published by the Home Office and other agencies is now contained within JIGSAW. The exact wording of official codes and charters is within the Useful Information section.
The DVD and booklet are packaged together and there’s a clip inside the case where you can keep the business card of the police or witness care officer who’s looking after you.
The content has been scripted to make it easy to understand, explaining necessary terms associated with the justice process and breaking down its complex nature.
By improving understanding we hope to make victims and witnesses feel more confident about playing their part in the criminal justice system.
