Business Crime

Tackling business crime is a force prioriy, and Staffordshire Police are keen to work with and support businesses to reduce crime and promote safety.

The force has launched a dedicated Business Crime Advice Line. This can be accessed through our central switchboard on the single non-emergency telephone number – 101. Business callers will then be transferred to our new, dedicated line where they will talk to a specially-trained operator.

Force-wide, business crime levels have been driven down - since 2006 there has been a reduction of almost ten per cent, but we know there is more that can be done.

In 2008 a new organisation was launched to co-ordinate the work of business crime reduction partnerships in Stoke-on-Trent, Stafford, Burton, Cannock, Lichfield and Tamworth.

PABCIS (Opens in new window) (Partnerships against Business Crime in Staffordshire) helps these organisations share best practice, provide a support network, and communicate intelligence about offenders who move around the county.

We are keen to have a better dialogue with businesses around the county, getting even more detailed information as to the concerns and issues they have.  We are currently looking for new members to join our Citizens’ Panel from the business community.
