Organisational Support
Corporate Services
Corporate Services consists of a number of specialist units that look at strategic planning and corporate support, performance review and internal communications.
Business Change manages the force's engagement with a range of statutory partners and our communities including:
- victims of crimes such as burglary and violence and incidents such as road traffic collisions
- local residents on policing plans and priorities
- Her Majesty's Inspector of Constabulary (HMIC) which inspects and monitors the force
- the National Policing Improvement Agency (NPIA)
- staff through internal perception surveys and executive officer visits to departments and divisions
Together with the corporate communications team, they have responsibility for producing and publishing the force's strategy and annual policing plan 'Policing Staffordshire'.
Data Quality and Standards ensure that all crime and incident records meet standards set by the Home Office. It conducts audits on crime, incidents, custody records and forensics data to ensure robust and accurate data is supplied to the Home Office.
Strategic Performance Development is responsible for both monitoring performance across policing priority areas and developing performance management tools and products which support managers prioritise resources and plan ahead.
The STORM development and map bureau ensures that the command and control system – a vital computer system which records details of incidents and helps with dispatching available resources to incidents – meets the developing requirements of the force.
