Corporate Communications
The force's Corporate Communications Department provides support to operational policing to help keep communities safe and reassured. Through planned and sustained communication, the department aims to maintain and enhance confidence and improve mutual understanding between the force and key audiences.
The department is made up of two areas: public relations and neighbourhood communication and campaigns.
Public relations consists of internal, media and web communication teams.
- Internal communications has a responsibility for keeping our staff updated on developments, initiatives and news
- Media communications provides proactive publicity and reactive incident / investigation / operations support service to the force.
- Web communications manages and develops the force website, intranet, CrimeMapper and social media sites
The neighbourhood and campaigns team focuses on developing public information campaigns and tailored local communication approaches to raise public awareness about what the force is doing to deal with the things that matter to local communities. They also provide community communication support following major incidents or initiatives.
