What can you do?

Contact us and report what has happened, this can be done in a number of ways in an emergency dial 999 or 112 to receive an immediate police response

  • report a homophobic or Transphobic incident, contact your local police station. Your report will be recorded and an officer will make arrangements meet you.
  • report the incident online (Opens in new window)
  • speak to an officer or member of police staff who specialise in hate crimes. They may be able to reassure you or advice you before you make a report
  • if you have any information/intelligence about somebody committing these contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 
  • if an incident doesn’t get reported, people are free to commit crimes again.
  • reporting incidents enables us to catch these people and build up a picture of crime trends. It also helps us to develop plans, with other agencies if necessary, to make our communities safer and more pleasant places to live.
