Stalking and bullying

Stalking is a colloquial term used to describe a particular kind of harassment. It is normally used to describe the repeated following of, communication with or other intrusions on the privacy of a victim. In may cases the conduct might appear innocent if taken in isolation, but when it is linked as a course of conduct may be sufficient to cause alarm, harassment or distress to the victim and amount to harassment.

Bullying

Bullying is a form of harassment in which the suspect puts the victim in fear for their own or other's emotional, physical or financial well-being. Bullying may include the commission of other serious crimes such as assault, robbery or blackmail.

Course of Conduct

For the purposes of the Protection from Harassment Act 1997 (PHA), a course of conduct must amount to at least two or more incidents.

If you think you are being stalked or are suffering harassment, report your concerns to your local police station or 101.
