Alcohol
I'll be Des
As a contribution to the reduction of incidences of drink driving, Staffordshire County Council Road Safety Unit is once again organising its 'I'll be Des' campaign, and Staffordshire Police has been working in partnership to promote the campaign across the County.
The principle of the scheme is that participating venues offer free or reduced price soft drinks to the 'designated driver' from a group of customers e.g. groups of 3 people or more. The aim is to encourage groups to nominate a driver and to make driving more 'attractive'.
Participation in the scheme demonstrates commitment to making our local communities safer, reducing road casualties and also dispels the argument that soft drinks can cost as much as alcoholic ones.
If you would like your venue to take part in this scheme please either complete the form below now or alternatively ring to Road Safety Unit on 01785 276611 or email Irene Williamson at irene.williamson@staffordshire.gov.uk.
'I'll be Des' initiative participation form
To take part in the I'll be Des campaign as a customer, when you enter a participating campaign venue simply make yourself known to the bar staff by outlining that you are the designated driver in your group and they will explain the soft drinks offers available to you. The campaign will be running throughout December. It couldn't be easier!
